Hozier On The Politics Of His Music And How He Finds Catharsis

“It was relevant when it came out and it’s 10 times more relevant now.”

Hozier played Outside Lands this past Saturday (August 10th) and Dayna got the chance to chat with him about the politics of his newest record Wasteland, Baby!

Speaking about his track “Nina Cried Power”, Hozier mentioned, “…it came from a spirit of protest and solidarity, I suppose, and was looking to a time where artists were writing a lot about social and societal issues and putting it into song.”
