Slated for release October 4th, Joker has been confirmed by director Todd Phillips to be rated R.
It will be the first-ever R-rated live-action Batman movie and Phillips mentioned in regards to the rating, “I’ve been asked this a lot. Just assumed people knew. Sorry.”
The trailer gives us a grim glimpse inside Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker as a tormented soul, who has failed as a stand-up comic and starts going insane.
Recently, Phillips posted this picture of Phoenix embracing the role.
