True story – we can’t let “Africa” go.

Toto’s resurged hit was obviously rediscovered recently with the help of Weezer’s epic cover. We just haven’t been able to get enough.

To further immortalize the song, Namibian-German artist Max Siedentopt has created a solar-power sound installation in the Namib Desert. It’s specially designed to play the rock classic on a loop using the power of the sun. At the undisclosed location, there are six speakers hooked up to an MP3 player with one song and one song only.

‘I … wanted to pay the song the ultimate homage and physically exhibit ‘Africa’ in Africa,’ Siedentopf tells NPR. ‘The Namibian desert — which is, with 55 million years, the oldest desert in the world — seemed to be the perfect spot for this.’
