SF Symphony presents ‘Batman’ like you’ve never seen it before

April 4-5 – SF Symphony – Batman Movie

Watch Tim Burton’s Batman on the big screen featuring Danny Elfman’s Grammy Award-winning score performed live by the San Francisco Symphony. With Michael Keaton in the title role and Jack Nicholson as the iconic Joker, return to Gotham City and watch as the two battle for good and evil. Remember, only one will claim the night.

Other movies that they’ll be performing this year are Amadeus, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Tim Burton’s The Night Before Christmas, Mary Poppins, Lala Land and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

April 7 – Merola – Spring Benefit Gala 2018, Evening of Mystery at The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco

The Merola Opera Program is kicking off their 61st season with their annual Spring Benefit Gala! This amazing program helps the finest young opera talent around the world develop their artistic skills prepare them for a vibrant career as a professional opera singer.

Evening highlights include cocktails, hors-d’oeuvres, silent and live auction, formal dinner, San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows Concert, and DJ After-Party. Plus, a mystery performance with Renee Rapier and Amitai Pati with special guest Jake Heggie. (Black-tie event.)

Special guest Jake Heggie is an American composer of operas as well as chamber music, choral, and orchestral works. He’s the composer of It’s A Wonderful Life (that will be performed this season at the San Francisco Opera) and he is currently at work on If I Were You (Scheer), a new opera based on the Faustian story by Julian Green, commissioned by the Merola Opera Program for Summer of 2019.

April 5-8 – Feinstein’s – Steve Tyrell in Concert

Located within Hotel Nikko (222 Mason Street, San Francisco), Feinstein’s at the Nikko is best known for presenting exceptional local and nationally known talent from the Broadway and jazz musical genres in an intimate setting with dinner! The showroom is operated in partnership with Michael Feinstein, the Ambassador of the Great American Songbook.

This month they will be presenting Steve Tyrell, Grammy Award-winning vocalist who reinvents and re-popularizes classical pop standards for a modern-day audience.

His hits, “The Way You Look Tonight,” “The Simple Life,” “Crush On You,” and “The Sunny Side of The Street” have launched millions of romances and been played at thousands of weddings.

Fun Fact: In 2005, the Sinatra and Quincy Jones handpicked Steve Tyrell to be the featured performer with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra at their season-opening concert in which Frank Sinatra was inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame!
