With SF Beer Week in full swing, Alicia and I were thrilled to be joined by Shmaltz Brewing Co., one of the featured breweries this year, and their owner Jeremy Cowan for Beer For Breakfast. Jeremy started Shmaltz back in 1996 in San Francisco’s Mission district before craft brewing was really a thing here in the Bay Area. As the company expanded he eventually moved the brewery to upstate New York, but being a Bay Area native, Jeremy is still very connected to the craft brew community here.

Jeremy walked Alicia and me through a tasting of three beers from Shmaltzs’ extensive lineup including: Slingshot American Craft Lager, Messiah Nut Brown Ale, and their Jewbelation 21. Not only were their beers amazing, Jeremy was hilarious and had the best radio voice of any non-radio person I have ever heard.
