Beer For Breakfast with Gordon Biersch Brewing Company

So our boss Mat suggested that we start a segment where we interview local brew masters and sample their goods. Let me tell you, when your boss gives you the green light to drink on the job, you do it!

For our first installment of Beer for Breakfast, we invited the man behind the wildly popular Gordon Biersch brewing company, Dan Gordon, to talk about their line of beers and their brewing process. Dan went above and beyond and brought in authentic German-style sausage and handmade pretzels to go along with the 10 cases of beer he brought for us to sample.

Needless to say, Alicia and I didn’t make it through all the beer, mostly because we would have died if we did, but we did manage to put away Dan’s exquisite hefeweizen, Wildcide hard cider, and the brand new Wild Mule, his own spin on the classic Moscow Mule.

Dan talks about his years studying to be a brewmaster in Munich, Germany, and how he turned a small BBQ restaurant in Palo Alto into an internationally known brand. This is a must listen for anyone interested in the art of craft brew…or drinking it.
