Twenty One Pilots Accept Grammy Award Pantsless

It’s been a good couple of years for Twenty One Pilots (TØP). The band released their fourth album Blurryface in 2015 with tracks: “Stressed Out”, “Ride”, “Tear in My Heart”, and “Heavydirtysoul” all hitting billboard charts. In 2016, they released their single “Heathens” for the DC antihero film Suicide Squad. The song itself has sold over 1.7 million copies. Both “Stressed Out” and “Heathens” tied at #2 for US Billboard’s Hot 100.

On February 11th, TØP were nominated for Record of the Year 2016 but won their first Grammy for Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance at the 59th Grammy Awards. And members Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun weren’t stressed out receiving their award pantsless.

Singer Tyler Joseph said in his acceptance speech:

This story starts in Columbus, Ohio. A few years ago before Josh and I were able to make money playing music. I called him up and said ‘Hey Josh want to come over to my rental house and watch the Grammys.’ As we were watching, we noticed every single one of us was in our underwear and Josh turned to me to say “You know if we ever go to the Grammys, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this. So not only is this amazing but I want everyone who’s watching at home to know you could be next so watch out okay because anyone from anywhere can do anything and this is that.

The Grammy award winning duo will perform on Valentine’s Day at the Save Mart Center in Fresno,CA with Judah and the Lion.
