Kings of Leon’s Perform”Find Me” on The Late Night Show

Tennessee rock band Kings of Leon made an appearance on The Late Night Show with Seth Meyers Monday night. They played “Find Me” off their seventh album We Are Like Love Songs (WALLS), released in late 2016. This continues their late night show tour, having played a fiery version of “Waste a Moment” (which made it to #2 on Billboard’s Rock Airplay) on The Tonight Show in October. Incredibly, after 17 years and 7 albums, WALLS is Kings of Leon’s first No.1 album.

But drummer Nathan Followill told Rolling Stone that they weren’t aiming for commercial success with this record:

We learned our lesson early on after our really big record [2008’s Only By the Night and its hit ‘Use Somebody’]. You put so much pressure on yourself after that – to at least maintain that momentum you’ve got going — and we really had a shitty time in the studio trying to do that. Trying to chase a hit or trying to recreate success you had on previous things. So going into this record we had the frame of mind of no pressure to recreate any success we’ve had prior to this.

WALLS is a kind of redemption album for Kings of Leon, overcoming family turmoil and criticism over the years, and it feels like the controversy is in the past. As Consequence of Sound puts it, the album “finds them at ease with themselves.”

The rockers dropped by the Bay Area last at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on January 27, 2017 and will return to the Golden State on August 24th at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View with Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. Tune in all week for your chance to win tickets!
