It’s been nearly twenty years since British band Radiohead released “Karma Police” from their OK Computer album back in 1997, and now their single has resurfaced. American musician Ryan Adams, who previously covered Taylor Swift’s 1989 album, now covers Radiohead’s hit song with a new meaning. According to singer Thom Yorke:

Karma Police is dedicated to everyone who works for a big firm. It’s a song against bosses.

With that in mind, Ryan Adams performed this song for BBC Radio 2 as a response to Trump’s presidency. Adams commented:

I don’t know if I’ve learned it in a great new and interesting way, but also thought it’s fitting, because there’s a pretty awful person who just got elected in the United States. So I don’t know why, but the song popped into my head this morning.

Ryan Adams can be added onto the list with Billie Joe Armstrong, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Morrissey, among other musicians who oppose Trump.

Ryan Adams latest album Prisoner will be out on February 17, 2017. As for Radiohead, they have an upcoming 2017 tour. Two of those dates are April 17th and 18th at the UC Greek Theatre in Berkeley.
