CHBB 2013 Concert and Raffle Fundraising Gary Gory of KFOG will host the upcoming concert of the students in the CHS Instrumental Music program (CHS Music). CHS Music will be performing with Gordon Goodwin, Alex Rackages and Dave Ridge at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. To help defray production cost, CHBB is raffling off Apple iPads. Drawing of the two winning tickets will be held at the May 14th concert. You need not be present to win. Proceeds from the concert and raffle will benefit CHS Music and Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. The CHS Music students are excited about being on stage with a renowned artist, but they are doubly excited about the prospect of performing for a worthy cause - nourish the community through their music. Blue Bear Benefit Blue Bear School of Music is pleased to present the 8th annual Blue Bear Benefit on Saturday, May 18 at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco, featuring Robert Randolph & The Family Band. Talented Blue Bear Youth Bands will jump start this special evening with rocking performances. The annual Blue Bear Benefit provides crucial funding for the school's nonprofit mission and music education programs that enrich the lives of more than 800 Bay Area youth, including hundreds of kids from low-income families and at-risk communities. Headlining this year's Blue Bear Benefit in their only Bay Area appearance this spring, Blue Note recording artist Robert Randolph & The Family Band is a group well known for their powerhouse live performances and led by a pedal steel guitar virtuoso who has been called one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone. Mount Tam Jam Take Part with KFOG at Mount Tam Jam on Saturday, June 22nd! The festival is a benefit for the Mount Tam State Park in Marin, and its held at the Mountain Theater which is super rad because there haven't been any rock concerts there since 1967's "Fantasy Fair". Bands like Jefferson Airplane, Captain Beefhart, The Byrds, The Doors, The Grass Roots and a bunch more played here.
