KFOG's Local Scene
Welcome to KFOG's Local Scene |
Join KFOG's Renee Richardson for a local music series cleverly titled "Conversations With Renee." In conjunction with the San Francsico Songwriters Coalition Renee will lead a different local musician through a one-hour discussion about their music, life, and loves (hehee) ... the event also features a live solo performance, Q&A with the audience, and a full-band acoustic set afterward. Plus, the venue makes for a perfect night out.
Upcoming conversations at the Cafe Royale (Post @ Leavenworth):
Saturday, April 19th - Pine and Battery - Get Tickets Now
Saturday, May 24th - Kyoshi Foster
Saturday, June 21st - Jesse Brewster
Saturday July 19th - TBD
Saturday, August 16th- Stacy Kray

FEATURED LOCAL BAND OF THE MONTH (maybe longer): |
PINE & BATTERY
Pine & Battery formed in 2005 when singer Jeff Campbell met guitarist Andy Weller at a gig one night in SF. The guys started talking about music Jeff had been working on, they got together to see if it would amount to anything, and low and behold... it did! Bassist AJ Leighton & Drummer Rick Munoz make up the rhythm section w/ friend & art designer Larissa Waters joining in for background vocals at live shows.
The name? It simply came from a phone conversation between Jeff & a friend about what to name a new band. Jeff was standing at the intersection of Pine & Battery in San Francisco at the time, looked up, and blurted out the name that stuck almost right away.
Late 2006 saw the completion of P&B’s first full length, self-titled release.

Thanks for Helping Make Local Music Month a Gigantic Sucess!
We would like to express our tremendous gratitude to KFOG for choosing us as the beneficiary of the KFOG Local Scene CDs for the past four years! With the financial contributions from the CD sales, as well as the Local Scene concerts, you are showing the power of the community to rise up and keep our arts education scene vibrant.
So many of you have contributed to this important cause, from the musicians, the engineers, the on-air personalities who so kindly mention us, and last but not least, the thousands of amazing Fogheads who buy these CDs and attend the concerts! We are grateful to each and every one of you for your support of music education, and may wehave many more years of successful collaboration!
