1) Band Name: Happy Mayfield Website: happymayfield.com, theparkmusic.com, leebob.com 2) BEHIND THE SONG: I love it when they play rockers on the dance floor, like the Kinks right after Rick James or M.I.A. or some shit. It's ambiguous, it shows the DJ has a broad sensibility. On the other hand, Modern Rock seems so sad. It needs to learn how to dance. Just close your bedroom door and put OFF The WALL on the boombox. "Another Song About a Boy and His Feelings and His Girlfriend Who Happens to be A Famous Actress" is a fun song to play after a Crit-Hop singalong. The simple lyric describes a moment when maybe you open the morning paper and after reading through the Gossip on Page 1 2 and 3 find something like "House Approves Historic Climate Change Legislation" on pag A17. 3) BAND BIO: Happy Mayfield who is happy mayfield? is he a rapper? a pariah? does he rock diamonds or sweaters? it’s useless. we aren’t who we say we are. and why should we be? happy mayfield is about getting happy. indulging in conflicting tastes—with precision.
