The Song: "Lost in the Light"

In 'Lost in the Light' three characters are captured on the lip of an experience set against the invocations of a gospel choir (sirens? witches?) and backed up by a fuzzed out force that can't be restrained. A crab-backwards retro guitar solo helps the song maintain its tension between the affirmation and negation of experience. It's one more 'heavenly state' in The Heavenly States catalogue of heavenly states.
What's it like to be a bay area band?:
The bay area band experience is as broad as the social demographic itself. You move among old money, the dot.com Rockefellers, the undercover middle classes, the bohemians, and the survivors every time you venture out. It's a little permanent midnight. There are some great old venues run or booked by people who get it, along with the remnants of a die-hard surf and psych era reborn in fanatical and dedicated youth, ever at odds with club couture.
