Alameda County Community Food Bank Since 1994, KFOG's Live From The Archives has provided $986,443 for the Alameda County Community Food Bank's campaign against hunger - enough to buy nearly 3 million meals in Alameda County. As the economy has gone south, KFOG has stepped up its game - Live From the Archives 13, 14 and 15 produced a $218,291 windfall for the Food Bank. Live from the Archives 15 was one of the best music compilations ever produced, anywhere. Simply compiling a CD of this magnitude is a world-class undertaking. But this is also a world-class philanthropic effort. KFOG's efforts are making a very real impact on hunger in Alameda County - and throughout the Bay Area. - Suzan Bateson, Executive Director
Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Your ongoing support makes it possible for us to continue to provide food to thousands of people in need - to children whose families live in poverty, to individuals who befall sudden misfortune, to low-income senior citizens, and many others. - Marilu Boucher, Development Director
Marin Community Food Bank Food donations are down and the requests for food assistance are up, but we are keeping our heads above water on a daily basis with help from friends like you! - Anne Rogers, Executive Director
Napa Valley Food Bank Thank you so much for your generous donation to Napa Valley Food Bank, [and] for remembering us and the needs of our clients...The mistaken idea that people who need food are "troublemakers" is disturbingly prevalent. The reality is that most of our clients are low-income working people or those who have been laid off...They are invisible to people more fortunate, and usually suffer in silence. Thank you for caring about people in need. We appreciate you so much! - Shirley King, Director
Redwood Empire Food Bank We appreciate the show of compassion for the more than 70,000 individuals in our community who rely on the Redwood Empire Food Bank to nourish themselves and their families. We find that the number of our neighbors in need expanded over the last year, caused by the economic challenges we are all facing...These community members are either recently unemployed, low-wage families, seniors on fixed incomes or people with disabilities who need to cut back on many essentials including food and vital nutrition...With your kind gift, the REFB will continue to provide people struggling to meet the most basic of needs - food. Together, we can end hunger in our community. - David Goodman, Executive Director
San Francisco Food Bank Thanks to KFOG's consistent and generous support, we’ve been able to grow our network to over 200 pantries throughout San Francisco and Marin this year. That means we've been able to meet the growing need that the recession has generated. For the first time ever, we serve over 20,000 households each week with groceries to prepare meals at home. We've also been able to reach out to the many newly unemployed - who may never have needed a hand before - with 5 Recession Relief pantries. - Paul Ash, Executive Director
