SF Chronicle TV Critic Tim Goodman spend his Monday mornings with the gang at KFOG, today he recapped the Super Bowl - the game, the commercials, the Who. Listen to Tim Goodman here.
The gang took calls/reviews on the Super Bowl all morning, and naturally, the commercials came up. Greg thought that one of the characters in a car commercial reminded him of "Phil" the syphilitic penis the San Francisco Board of Health brought out a few years back to get folks to practice safe sex. You be the judge:

Fogheads sent in some amazing Super Bowl Dip recipes this week, but there could be only one winner. We judged on ease of prep, deliciousness, and fun name. And the winner is...
I Hope My Team Doesn't (Arti)Choke Dip, from Foghead Peter:
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 cup mayonnaise 1 can artichoke hearts -- chopped 3-4 cloves of garlic -- chopped
Put all ingredients into a small crockpot. Heat until the cheese has melted (1/2 -1 hour). Spread dip on your favorite brand of sourdough bread or cracker and enjoy! Thanks again for all the submissions, please enjoy making these wonderful honorable mentions...
Quick Kick Caramel Apple Dip, from Cheryl~
Ingredients: 16 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped 1/4 cup water 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 1/2 cup brown sugar
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, or in the microwave, melt caramels with water, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. In a medium bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar. Fold in caramel mixture. Serve immediately with fruit of your choice (serves 8).
The Colt's are hot and so is this dip, dip. From Foghead Diane~
Ingredients: 1 container sour cream 16oz. 1 cup shredded colby jack cheese 3 sliced chipolte pepppers in sauce from can - (I add more, I like it hot.) 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Serve with tortilla chips.
Blood on the Field, from Jeanne~
Ingredients: 1 large package of cream cheese (softened) 1/2 lb. bay shrimp 1 jar cocktail sauce
Spread cream cheese about 1 inch thick, top with shrimp, pour cocktail sauce over until covered. Serve with crackers.
Tight End Tira Misu Dip ala M'Lisa~
Ingredients: 12 ounces mascarpone cheese (about 1 1/2 cups) 8 ounces ricotta cheese (about 1 cup) 1/2 cup granulated sugar 3 tablespoons brewed espresso 2 tablespoons Marsala 1 teaspoon cocoa powder 1/2 cup finely chopped bittersweet chocolate
Place mascarpone in a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment and whip on low speed until smooth, about 30 seconds. Add ricotta, sugar, espresso, and Marsala . Increase speed to high and beat until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a shallow 1-quart serving dish and dust with cocoa powder, then sprinkle chopped chocolate over cocoa. Serve with strawberries and assorted cookies.
Super Salamon (Like Super slam them!) from foghead Sandi~
Ingredients: Italian Dry Salami (12 oz or less) Cream cheese with dill salmon (two 7 oz packages - prefer Gordy's brand) Small Kosher Dill Pickles (8 oz jar)
In food processor chop pickles into pea size pieces. Remove from food processor and mix in bowl with salmon cream cheese. Spread mixture on salami and fold in half
4th and 2 Fondue, from Foghead Phil~
Ingredients: 6oz can of crab meat, with water from can 8oz block of Velveeta Cheese, cubed 8oz jar of Best Foods mayonnaise (must use Best Foods brand) bunch of green onions, chopped fine tablespoon of ground white pepper tablespoon of Tobasco Sauce 4 - tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce 1 - cup of dry sherry wine A large loaf of sour dough french bread, cubed. Toasting optional.
Put all ingredients except bread into fondue pot or sauce pan on "low," stirring occasionally until melted smooth. Serve with cubes of bread and skewers or fondue forks.
