10 Bay Area Donut Shops To Visit On National Donut Day

A whole day just dedicated to donuts?

Yes please. Our mouths are watering already. Wondering where to get your fix this Friday for National Donut Day? Here’s a couple of our favorite spots in the Bay.

1. Johnny Doughnuts

This doughnut company has a doughnut cart in the West End Village in San Rafael and a couple in San Francisco in Hayes Valley and at the corner of Fulton and Gough. Their doughnuts are “inspired by the seasons” made with local ingredients. Delicious!

 

2. Twisted Donuts and Coffee

Paul, the owner of Twisted Donuts, grew up in the donut business so he knows his stuff. On the weekdays, more classic donuts are featured, but on the weekends, they like to mix in crazy specialty options. Located at 1243 Noriega St. San Francisco.

 

3. Bob’s Donuts And Pastries

A classic. Since 1960, Bob’s has been serving the Bay with amazing donuts, apple fritters, and pastries galore! Open 24 hours, it’s the perfect stop after a night of bar hopping. You can find the shop at 1621 Polk St. San Francisco.

 

4. Donut Farm

If you’re looking for an organic, vegan option, Donut Farm is the place to go! With unique flavors like Lavender Earl Grey, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Whiskey Tangerine Fig and more, it’ll be hard to decide on just one. 6037 San Pablo Ave. Oakland

 

5. Colonial Donuts

Another classic shop that’s been around since the 80’s, Colonial Donuts is a must if you happen to be exploring around the Lakeshore area in Oakland. It’s also open 24 hours so you can satisfy your sweet tooth any time of the day!

 

6. Psycho Donuts

Up for some crazy concoctions and insane toppings? Psycho Donuts has you covered! The staff is dressed in asylum-themed attire has become a Bay Area icon. Push yourself to your donut limits! 2006 Winchester Blvd. Campbell

Located in Berkeley, this shop has been around since the 1930s! Stop by and try their icing-filled donuts and grab a couple for your friends to share. 2521 Durant Ave. Berkeley

This cute little shop/restaurant is located on Alameda’s Park Street and offers yummy breakfasts as well as handmade doughnuts daily. Fresh Matcha Green Tea Glaze, Maple Bacon Glaze or Blueberry Fritter – it’s up to you! 1363 Park St. Alameda

 

10. Mr. Holmes Bakehouse

What do you get when you combine a muffin and a croissant? A cruffin! Ok, so we know it’s not technically a donut, but these cruffins are amazing and you might as well pick up a couple in addition to your donut haul. How can you not with flavors like Coconut Lime, Peanut Butter Milkshake, Root Beer Float, passion Fruit Chili Jam and more? Grab some at 1042 Larkin St. San Francisco.
