Garaje isn’t a typical burger joint. It’s adds a sports bar and taqueria to the mix, which isn’t the set-up you would expect from the place that serves what Thrillist is calling the Best Burger in San Francisco. Then again, that oddness in itself is very SF.
National Burger Critic (yes, that’s a title a real person has) Kevin Alexander took a year to eat 330 burgers in one year on the hunt for the best in the country. While the number one spot went to this joint in Portland, 24 burgers in San Francisco alone were called out and ranked.
Garaje stole the top spot in the city for its “no-frills” Cali-style simplicity. It’s also a steal in the Bay Area for coming in just under $10. Not bad for SoMa.
