Netflix’s ‘The Staircase’ attorney talks to Arthur about the case and the state of criminal justice in America

David Rudolf, one of the top defense attorneys in the country and star of the hit Netflix true crime documentary The Staircase, talked with meĀ about the infamous case before his shows at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco on Wednesday (October 10).

The Staircase case centers around the death Kathleen Peterson, who was found in her home unconscious at the bottom of a staircase. The investigation immediately zeros in on her husband Michael Peterson, a local journalist who had in the past been very vocal about his criticisms of local law enforcement. Michael enlists David Rudolf to defend him against the murder charges in a case that ultimately takes over 10 years to resolve.

Listen in to the interview below as David discusses the case and it many twists and turns, the state of criminal justice in America, and tantalizing theories about the case that have sprung up since the culmination of the investigation.

David will appear at Cobb’s Comedy Club on October 10 to speak to fans about about the case, giving rare insight into one of the most baffling cases in recent memory.
