Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett is selling 20 guitars from his personal collection

Foo Fighters’ Chris Shiflett is selling 20 guitars from his personal collection, including ones he used during his time with the rock band.

The musician joined Dave Grohl‘s band in 1999 after Pat Smear left the group. Shiflett is also a member of Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, while he was in No Use For A Name until the band split in 2012.

As he says in the Reverb video below, Shiflett has racked up so many guitars over the years that he doesn’t have the time to play with them all. His plan is to turn his “20 guitars into 2” as he wants to see them get new homes so they can get used and scratched up like they were meant to be.

Among the guitars are a Gretsch Brian Setzer Signature Black Phoenix and a 2002 Gibson Firebird V Reissue that he plays in Foo Fighters’ “All My Life” video. The assortment also includes the first Fender Chris Shiflett Signature Telecaster Deluxe Prototype, an early design of the instrument that ultimately went to market. The guitar is inspired by Shiflett’s favorite ‘72 Telecaster Deluxe.

The online guitar sale begins July 19. Catch the Foo Fighters on their 2018 Concrete and Gold Tour coming to San Jose SAP Center September 12 and watch the video below to see Chris Shiflett discuss his for-sale guitar collection.
