Starting as early as Tuesday, this week in The Bay has a lot to offer in music. Check out our top picks below.

Car Seat Headrest

Online sensation out of Seattle, by way of Virginia, Car Seat Headrest has been receiving rave reviews from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Paste and others for their latest release 2018’s Twin Fantasy (Face to Face). Since signing to Matador records in 2015 the band has been on quite the upswing bringing their lo-fi, indie pop sounds all over the world and growing their fan base from a relatively niche cult following to the brink of mainstream success. Catch Car Seat Headrest performing Tuesday and Wednesday at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.

My Bloody Valentine at the Fox

The pioneers of shoegaze are back in the Bay Area with two shows at the Fox this week!  The Irish band, which have been cited as an influence on everyone from Billy Corgan, to Trent Reznor, to The Edge, have only released one album since 1991, yet continue to tour to sold out audiences on the strength of their seminal works Isn’t Anything and Loveless. Catch them at The Fox in Oakland Thursday and Friday.

Boy Pablo at Swedish American Music Hall

These guys might not be on your radar yet, but the buzz continues to build around this Norwegian indie-pop band thanks mostly in part to their surprise hit music video for their debut single “Everytime” in 2017. Since then the band, fronted by 19 year-old Nicolas Pablo Munoz, are set to ride the wave of internet buzz to their first North American tour which brings their chilled-out vibes to the Swedish American Music Hall Thursday night.
