‘Tis the season to be merry and gay in the city, and opportunities to be loud and proud are numerous. While the infamous nightclubs may be one’s cup of tea, a treasure trove of events around food and drink take place during the day this month in honor of Pride as well. You name it, the city has it and is celebrating with a goal of honoring diverse identities.

Rainbow Toastmakers, the largest LGBT public speaking group in San Francisco, are throwing their annual dinner at Destino on June 21. Guests and members are invited to the Latin bistro for a selection of the most popular dishes and the opportunity to mingle.

If you want to start your parade weekend with a brunch, Gary Virginia & Donna Sachet’s Pride Brunch offers the unique chance to dine and listen to speakers from the Grand Marshals of the San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade on June 23.

Music, drinks, raffles, and bids are all housed in the Hotel Whitcomb. Ticket prices land on the pricier end, but all net proceeds go toward the San Francisco-based agency PRC, which provides health and human services to those affected by HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, or mental health issues. On the same day, Trikone Bay Area is putting together their annual brunch “Women of Trikone’s Annual Pride Brunch” to commemorate Pride with fellow South Asian QWTGNC (Queer Women, Transgender persons, and Gender Non-Conforming folkx) and allies. RSVP by June 20 to receive details about this private brunch.

Avoiding all things 2018? Perhaps, The Speakeasy’s LGBTQ Night at Goorin Bros.’ might entice your nostalgia. Described as choose-your-own-adventure immersive theatrical experience taking place in the Prohibition era, attendees will be able to experience a truly authentic San Francisco Speakeasy through live-performances, raffle, craps and roulette tables, hidden rooms, secret passageways, and, of course, alcohol. For two nights only on June 21 and 22, the Speakeasy is partnering with The Goorin Bros. location in North Beach to provide guests with a one-of-a-kind Happy Hour before the big show. While admission is free for the Happy Hour, tickets are required for the cabaret performance.
