‘Brotopia’ author Emily Chang on how to end sexism in Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley may the region that is leading the world in innovation. But it also seems to be stuck in a quagmire of repressive gender biases and inequality.

Television host and author Emily Chang seeks to expose how Silicon Valley became a mecca of sexism, despite its initial utopian ideals, through her new book Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley. Emily called in this morning to talk to Alicia and me about the book, the infamous Silicon Valley sex parties that were exposed in a recent Vanity Fair article, and about her suggestions for leveling the playing field in the tech industry.

This is the book everyone is talking about, so make sure to listen in and hear the message straight from the authors’ mouth.
