Great Gigs in January: Passion Pit, John Hiatt, St. Vincent

This winter has been busy on the Bay Area music scene; no rest after the holidays! Sons of Anarchy fans will want to catch cult favorite The White Buffalo; Jake Smith’s songs appeared in many episodes. Americana favorite John Hiatt has added Louisiana guitarist Sonny Landreth to his lineup, so we can expect some slide guitar pyrotechnics at the Masonic on the 31st. The show I’m most curious about is St. Vincent, (the nom de plume of Annie Clark). She’s a multi-talent with a dynamic stage presence. Her “Fear of the Future” tour should handle the Bill Graham Civic just fine on the 22nd.
