Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” Is Even Better Live

Childish Gambino is used to making headlines in every corner of the entertainment world. Whether it be for his award-winning hit TV show, Atlanta, his stand-up comedy sets, or his latest album, Gambino (real name Donald Glover) is killing the game. But he delivered some sweet, and some bittersweet, news about his personal life and music career on Day 2 of NYC’s Governors Ball June 3rd.

After an inspired performance, which included hit songs from his most recent Awaken, My Love! album, he finally revealed his son’s name: Legend. Glover had announced he was going to be a father at the Golden Globe Awards in January, where he took home the award for Best Actor in a Television Series and the award for Best Television Series for FX’s Atlanta.

That was the sweet part, but as he walked off the stage at Governors Ball, he dropped the bomb, “I’ll see you for the last Gambino album.”

While we have yet to see if his next project will really be his last, we’re certain we want more from this multi-hyphen. For now, we have his live set at Governor’s Ball (his only show for the year) on repeat.
