Acoustic Sunrise Video Week of May 14

Hey there you – thank you so much for taking a moment to look into the Acoustic Sunrise video for Sunday May 14th – the Mother’s Day Show!

I was a problem child – I wince thinking of what I put my poor mother thru running away to the Haight Ashbury in the Summer of Love – ‘67 was the year that turned my mother’s hair white!  I sure hope it skips a generation….so far I’ve been lucky with my own two girls.

Trying to make up for it with songs for every kind of mother this Sunday…. and for all of us who have enjoyed, or endured, that complex relationship with our mother.

And speaking of 1967 – as teenage runaways like me flooded the Haight with nowhere to stay, all bright-eyed and naïve with flowers in our hair, a group of hippies rose to the challenge  and provided a place to stay, food, medical care, drug counseling, and more without judgement – Huckleberry House.

And they not only survived the ‘60s, they have thrived and expanded and are going stronger than ever today – providing all kinds of services for today’s at-risk youth, up to and including even college admission support!

So we will be celebrating 50 years of Huckleberry House & Huckleberry Youth Programs next Saturday, May 20, at GAMH & love to have you there for the party.

Representing the then: Big Brother & the Holding Company – talk about 50 years & still going strong! And representing the Now, Rozzi Crane, Krystal Warren, and Call me Ace. Please look into tickets at huckleberryyouth.org.

Just to get you going I have a pair of comps here if you want to try for them text HUCKLEBERRY TO 800-300-KFOG!

So call your mom, even if you can only do it in your mind or in your heart, and we’ll do her proud this Sunday on Acoustic Sunrise with me Rosalie only on the Bay Area’s KFOG.
